risks as an IT contractor

By ben sim
  • Companies whether big or small should have their own IT support staff, it’s not when server break, then they start calling IT technician from elsewhere to support them.
  • when there are no proper documentation to begin with like server login passwords, functional purpose of server and network diagrams. time will be wasted cos’ as an IT contractor needs time to study this.
  • The client must understand that although it’s cheaper engaging IT contractors, it’s just not as good as having your own IT support. It may be cheaper for companies to outsource the job to IT contractors, but they must recognize there are risks involved. When shit happens, who shall be responsible or take the blame?
  • I have companies calling in, requesting to set up Cisco routers and HP routers, the setup can be done. what if after setting up the routers, servers get hacked, again whose responsibility is it
